Consolidate backend tests and verify recovery invariants

Exercise seeded process crashes, pause/resume, stale claims, database disconnects and interrupted checkpoints against exact accepted-history invariants. Reconnect the shared claim/listener connection after database errors, consolidate workflow coverage and preserve CI recovery evidence.
